Juan, affectionately known as Gaby to family and Sosa to his friends, was a spirited individual known for his love of sports, music, and food. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in kinesiology.
Gaby's passion for baseball and football was evident through his unwavering support for the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He spent many hours on fantasy football, sharing this joy with friends and family. His intramural softball games were a continuation of this sporting spirit after college. Beyond sports, Gaby had a zest for life. He enjoyed tubing down the Guadalupe River, eating authentic NY pizza, chicken wings, tacos, and especially anything spicy. His spicy guacamole dip became a legendary treat at gatherings.
In his employment path, Gaby worked as a server at Sonic, El Arroyo, Olive Garden, and No Frills Grill between 2014 and 2017. Later, he joined Mouser Electronics as a fulfillment operator, a role he held from 2019 until his passing in 2024.
Gaby grew up attending St. Vincent Catholic Church, where he received his First Communion, Confirmation and Last Rites. His funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on January 13th at 11 am, preceded by a rosary at 10:40 am. A luncheon and celebration of his life will follow the services at the church activity center.
Gaby’s legacy will continue with his organ donations made to Life Gift, an organ procurement organization. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gaby's memory can be made to the ASPCA and/or the Brain Injury Association of America, reflecting his love for Sparkle, the family dog, and his compassionate spirit. Gaby will be remembered as a joyful and passionate soul who brought light and laughter to all who knew him.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Elsie and Juan Sosa, and his sibling, Corina Sosa. Gaby was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Amelia and Carmelo Sanchez, and his paternal grandmother, Catalina R. Sosa
Juan will be remembered dearly by his family and friends
