Rufus Clements Obituary



Rufus Manen Clements was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on July 3, 1955.


He entered into eternal rest peacefully on March 5, 2024, in Arlington, Texas, at his daughter's home.


Rufus was a proud Vietnam veteran. He held a great passion for serving his country.

He was a Golden Glove Champion boxer and a Heavy Weight boxer for the U.S. Air Force, who loved telling victory stories.

He was a man of God and held God close and dear in everyday life. Amongst hid daily life, he found comfort in his family.

Rufus was a beloved husband to his wife of 44 years, Cathy, a father to two beautiful daughters, Rachel and Crystal, and a loving grandfather. He also embraced his extended family from the First Church of the Nazarene,

who held a special place in his and family's hearts.

Rufus Clements is survived by his loving wife Cathy Clements, his brother Carl Clements and his wife Elaine, his sister Jaunice Worley and her husband Carlos, his daughter Rachel Murphy and her husband Ryan and Crystal Godfrey and her husband Patrick.

Rufus Papa adored his grandchildren, Madison Godfrey, Savannah Godfrey, Birdie Godfrey,

Logan Blume, Tyler Murphy and Bennett Murphy.


Rufus was preceded in death by his father, Carl Vernon Clements, mother Charlotte Clements and sister Janice Johnson.


Mr. Rufus Clements will rest at the DFW National Cemetery. He will be remembered dearly by his family and friends.


Rufus enjoyed spending time with his children and loved his grandchildren wholeheartedly. In his honor and remembrance, hed like to help those he loved closelyhis church family at First Church of the Nazarene and their youth/children ministry. In lieu of flowers, Rufus and his family would love and appreciate it if all donations could be made directly to the First Church of the Nazarenes children and youth programs for their needs.
